MARRS’ wastewater engineering and PM/CM type assignments for these On-Call contracts have included new construction and retrofit projects on the City’s wastewater collection and conveyance as well as four operating water reclamation plants, requiring close coordination with the operation to ensure the operation is not impacted and the effluent quality standards are met.

MARRS has completed three terms of four years, each for an On-Call Services Contract for a total of 12 years for the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering Environmental Engineering Division. MARRS’ services have included assignments of up to 6 personnel on the blended City/consultant teams, and completion of stand-alone tasks completed from our office. MARRS’ recent assignments have included supporting the Environmental Engineering Division Offices located at the Hyperion Treatment Plant for the design and construction management of several retrofit projects involving process equipment and electrical modifications. Two larger projects have involved the $10 Million Environmental Learning Center at Hyperion and construction of a $10 Million laboratory at the Tillman Water Reclamation Plant. The City has benefited from MARRS’ specialized construction management services including resident engineering, scheduling, constructability reviews, claims mitigation and resolution, and construction document coordination to support the City’s Construction Management staff for on-going $100 to $150 Million per year CIP Program. The City benefitted from the multi-tasking of MARRS assigned staff, as our team of construction managers also reviewed schedules and our senior estimator was able to guide and assist the City’s project engineers in estimating and negotiating change orders.
